HR Marketing process 1st step- Goal setting:

So let us start with the HR marketing process. Today I am going to talk about the initial step in HR marketing i.e. Goal setting.
Every department in an organization will be having their own goals which they strive to achieve. Goals can be again narrowed down to personal goals which each individual in the specific department will strive to achieve.
Here in HR marketing goals have to be clearly set by consulting the HR and other concerned departments with the support of the top management so that it will be realistic and achievable. Once the goal is set it has to be clearly communicated.

For e.g. HR marketing goal for a company will be to hire 1000 new interns for the coming year. A start up company which I worked in my early career had a goal of hiring 100 SAP resources within a span of one year

Goal setting is usually done by gaining the support of top management; this has to be really taken into consideration because lack of top management support will lead to future troubles. From my experience I have seen lot of companies releasing huge projects and sending the request for hire, everything then goes on smooth till the selection stage and when it comes to onbarding you get an announcement of project cancellation from top management due to reasons like lack of funds. This will surely damage your employer brand.
So in order to avoid this you should gain the support of the top management.

Once you set a concrete goal for HR marketing then you are good to move to the next stage of HR marketing which is creating the HR marketing organization.
I will discuss about this topic in detail in my next post.
