Just a thought:
The HR industry has grown exponentially in the last 10 years as issues with Employees and Contingent labour has changed in the legal scene.
After taking a number of HR courses, one message was very clear: for any organization to be successful, it must incorporate HR membership. As organizations grow larger, the need for HR is also followed to ensure the rights of employers, employees, and contract workers are satisfied.
For strategic decisions, the need for HR is to help “mobilize” the organization along the road map.
While decisions are made, HR can identify if these decisions are possible. Executives can only understand what is in their line of sight as opposed to the day to day tasks of line managers. At the end of the day, it is the line manager that can determine if such strategies will be carried out.
This also supports the trends of organizations becoming more flat. Executives are not the only one’s making strategic decisions. The incorporation of line managers into decision making is an HR initiative.
Although these organizational changes can take years and years to surface. Smaller organizations are more reflective of this type of change.
