JobRadio.fm is a public service project that myself and Peter Clayton (Total Picture radio) launched in October of last year. The ideas is to aggregate career advice podcasts into an internet stream that plays continuously 24x7.
The goal of the station is to help make people better job seekers.
We have recently
announced an iphone/ipod touch app so if you know a job seeker who could use some good advice, please tell them about JobRadio.fm.
Here are the details;
JobRadio.fm, the world’s first and only career advice Internet radio station has created an iPhone app that enables listeners to stream the station wherever and whenever they want through their iPhone or iPod Touch. The app is available for free in the Business section of the iTunes App store.
The station, located at
http://jobradio.fm has been on air since October 2008 and serves listeners such as job seekers, career coaches and recruiting professionals. Its stream can be heard 24x7, through the iTunes radio directories and now on your iPhone. Shows include Total Picture Radio, Secrets of the Job Hunt, Job Search Guy, Career Communique and The Savvy Jobseeker.
“This app represents the natural evolution of JobRadio”, says Chris Russell, the station's co-founder. “Our goal is to spread our message across as many platforms as possible and mobile devices like the iPhone offer a tremendous opportunity to gain listeners and teach people to become better job hunters.”
Peter Clayton, co-founder and producer of Total Picture Radio agrees, “Mobile devices such as the iPhone are the next wave in content distribution. One thing the current recession has shown: your job is not your career. Anyone can take advantage of the actionable career management advice from industry experts delivered through JobRadio.fm - all for free. And now, with our new iPhone app, all you need to do is tune-in is download and install the JobRadio.fm app.”
JobRadio.fm also offers career podcasts on demand by featuring a new piece of audio each day through its blog http://jobradio.fm/blog . Each week, new shows enter the stream which loops approximately 8-10 hours of content daily. JobRadio.fm is sponsored by Simply Hired.
The JobRadio.fm app plays over 2G, 3G and Wi-fi connections. It can be downloaded for your iPhone or iPod Touch at [
http://jobradio.fm/apps/]. According to Russell, JobRadio.fm is working on an application to support the new generation Blackberry.
