LinkedIn banishes your ability to post Links on your profile...

So as the world turns so goes LinkedIn and so goes your profile links. Have you noticed that you can no longer add links to your LinkedIn profile?

I am not sure how I feel about this yet. Although there are work around I am genuinely starting to feel as if LinkedIn is exposing user profiles and controlling their world a bit too much. From profile adjustments, to group limitations, connecting limitations etc.

Here are just a few conversations this week on RBC:

  1. LinkedIn makes everyone feel great with the 1% email...You've been ...
  2. LinkedIn Drops Sharing Apps, Wordpress, Box.net and Gives Out...
  3. LinkedIn: A list of challenges

LinkedIn must be planning to monetize adding content to the groups; the pitfalls of a publicly traded company.

Marvin - I head that as well while at Sourcecon. I would not doubt that they would start charging for the use of groups based on member size... :-)

Ryan, The previous links didn't go away, they just moved and are now no longer prominent, specifically because LinkedIn is promoting the "Professional Gallery" section.

You can still access the url links by clicking on the "Contact Info" button, in the bottom right of the header section, across from the custom url.

I noticed that when my profile was converted to the new format ALL of my links were lost.

So, I recommend taking a look at your profile and adding them back in.

Thanks, Jonathan. Now, do you know where they keep "hiding" my connections - no matter how many times I clear my cache, sign out/sign back in, etc. - lol!

@Ryan,

That's no fun!

We know events and answers have been removed. Actually the "More" menu items has so little to show.

What else is gone?

Is there anything to support the guess about the groups?

@Amber they are buggy; that's old news. I can write a lo-o-o-ong list of bugs. Group management is one of the most buggy areas.
