Losing candidates? Look at your process.

Given how hard it is to find good candidates, when you do find one and then loose them it can be very difficult and nerve racking. Of course you always want to know why, and while in some cases it will be things like salary, location. In others it is simply your process, and more specifically the length of the process. 

In this day when everyone is trying to find ways to make it easier and cheaper to find and hire good talent, you must also think about the length of time it takes for a candidate to apply and get hired. Good candidates are going to be in demand, and well if you snooze you lose. Candidates are not going to wait forever, to go through your process for you to make a decision. They will view this as you and the company not knowing what you want or not caring. So when you are thinking about ways to improve your process think like a great candidate, make the process quick and easy and you will lose fewer candidates.
