I like nice legs. We are in the midst of a little rally in the recruiting business and I hope this one has the legs to keep going for a while. Job orders are flowing in at a little better pace. The interview process in most cases is moving along a little more quickly, and our pipeline of deals looks better than it has in a long time. So this feels pretty good and many people will be tempted to call it a recovery. Recession over.

I don’t think I can buy that scenario. In the post bubble world we now live in, I think it is more likely that we go through periods like this and then slower periods and then keep repeating the pattern. Regardless, that would be a lot better than what we’ve seen over the last couple of years. For now we are on the upswing and in terms of business and what we hear, it seems like this may have a fair amount more to go. Let’s hope so. No matter what happens down the road we have to focus on what we have now and run our businesses in that environment. It would be great if this rally has the legs to continue on for a while.

Good post. You are correct in saying these spikes are in a repeating pattern. The IT recruiting was like this from 2001 through 2003
