Talent42 2019 happened a month ago, I thought Since we are done with the Sourcecon giveback we would start Talent42.

First up Carmen Hudson and designing the Optimal Interview process for Developers. Be prepared, ensure your interviewers are aligned. Ensure the level and job are appropriate. IN the end ensure you are interviewing correctly, for the right job and level and above all have feedback for them.

Next up Mark Tortorici and APIs for sourcing. The use of APIs and custom search engines is growing. Nearly every site or tool has an API and there for can be accessed in ways more cant do. APIs are “Application Programming Interface” and are a set of developer tools that allow for 3rd party developers to write programs or access data. Rather than going through all of this I will instead point you to a you tube video on the subject as this is very technical:

Jennifer Shappley and discovering untapped Talent. This seemed to be all about how Linkedin goes about finding people and more specifically how they create programs that open up their positions to people that might not normally meet the requirements. Specifically changing the requirements and filling in the gaps with training.

All tools mentioned can be found on the SSaR page at https://start.me/p/GE7Ebm/ssar

Well that is for part 1 of Talent 42 2019. Until next week, “may the source be with you.”
