Social Media influencer Jeff Bullas’ recently wrote an article explaining how search engines factor in a user’s Social Media influence when determining page ranking. Jeff Bullas concludes, “... I suspect that this will increase significantly over time as the social web grows.” Although social media continues to be the main liaison between a fan and the employer brand - it is also essential to be at the top of search results when a job seeker looks for a job.
When in a search query, Both Bing and Google analyze the pull from a social webpage to determine which pages are most relevant and popular. These links can carry more weight depending on the "author quality". Therefore the more influence a user via Facebook, Twitter, or other social channels, the better the page ranking they will receive.
