Using Twitter Hashtags in your Job Postings

On average, Twitter uses spend 21 minutes on the site each month, and tweets have a half life of 2.8 hours. There are 1 billion tweets per week. How are going to make your job postings stand out?

Hashtags are the best way to increase reach and engage with job candidates on Twitter. One tweet alone will only reach your network, and the networks of people who retweet you. Adding a hashtag to this allow a much larger audience to see your job post. On Twitter, you can also use multiple hashtags in each tweet to convey your message to an even larger audience.

Here are a couple of examples of hashtags to use on Twitter for recruitment:

#JobOpening

#JobHunt

#DreamJob

#TweetMyJobs

You can also use specific hashtags for specialized jobs such as:

#WebDesign

#StartUpJobs

#FreeLance

#GreenJobs

Some hashtags may work better for you than others, so make sure you keep track of the effectiveness of each so that you'll be able to figure out how you can make the most out of Twitter hashtags in your recruitment efforts.
