Planning for the Future: Aligning Technology and Business Growth in Your Staffing Firm

You’ve developed a strategic plan for your staffing or recruiting firm and now you’re seeing significant, positive changes in your business. You’re growing and prospering. And it only makes sense that as your business grows and evolves, the technology you’ve been using is reviewed, evaluated and optimized along the way.

Planning for technology with regards to the growth of your business is now, more than ever, imperative. What works for a start-up or office of five, will not necessarily translate for a company of fifty. Here are two tactics that will help you review and re-map your recruiting software to your new corporate reality.

Minimize Downtime, Maximize Investments

If your firm is consistently growing and bringing on new staff, incorporate your recruiting software into your onboarding program. Use any training modules from your staffing solution provider to show the new Account Managers and Recruiters how to use the software and how it fits within their day-to-day activities. Your onboarding program will also come in handy if you have to re-train staff for new roles as you expand. By including your recruitment software in your onboarding program, you’ll be able to minimize downtime and maximize your training investment.

Track Activities to Drive Performance

When your firm is small, it’s easy to track each recruiter’s performance using basic metrics. But as your company expands, your employees’ roles evolve, and so too will your metrics. Use metrics that can be pulled through your staffing software to help you manage the growing number of staff and their deliverables. Look at KPIs such as the number of sendouts for Account Managers and number of interviews for Recruiters. By implementing and tracking KPIs, you can ensure that everyone is performing properly and any issues are identified and resolved early on.

You can continue to use the same staffing software as long as you plan for and adjust it to meet your growth. Make sure that this is part of your business plan. It can help you increase efficiency and streamline reporting. Talk to your solutions provider to see if they provide services to help you re-map your recruiting software to meet your evolving needs.
