Thanks, RBC for running this contest! And Bullhorn Reach for sponsoring.  I personally really enjoyed reading all the posts that were submitted.

@Amy, you pulled many a heartstring but also left an inspiring example of winning when some would see only adversity. (Plus your daughter's pic is too cute!)

@Joel, wonderful reminder of the impact we can have and the joy of sometimes working towards a reward that is not always monetary.

@Sandra, your combination of humor and wisdom is always enlightening and FUN.  :)

Thanks Amber for sharing your feedback. And a special thanks to everyone that took time to share their story and why they enjoy working a desk. Tino nailed it in his comment in that this contest allows everyone within the RBC to get know know members a bit more both personally and professionally. Our goal from the start (with recruitingDaily.com) has always been to give back to recruiters and this RBC stage allows us to do so much more in that area. We will continue to run contests like this and be sure that the promotions we run always give something back to this great community.

I voted for Amy I thought hers was from the heart and many of us who have been single parents or parents of special needs child are fortunate that we have been in an industry that provides the opportunity to both provide financially while giving us the flexibility to be there when it was critical or just needed. Congrats Amo. Super great post.

@Amber, thanks, my take is if it ain't fun I won't do it.

Thank you so much... Sandra I loved yours :) you always make me laugh and I'm honored to call you my friend. :)

Amber thank you for the kind words and Tim, thanks for all you and RBC do for the recruiting community. Such an honor. :)

I missed hearing who won this contest because I was on vacation -

Congratulations Amy! Wonderful story and a true reason showing why recruiting is such a great industry to work in.

Sandra, you make me laugh every time you write - and your story/blog was my 2nd choice. After all that you have seen and been a part of and still love it today means you made the right decision when you became a recruiter. Or you’re crazy...

I love recruiting and have for over 22 years - I cannot think of doing anything else - well maybe sailing the Caribbean in my sailboat with my husband....  when I’m in my 80’s!
