In case you see this reply from me - it might help if you know where I'm coming from.

I come here to learn, share and just take a little break from industry and commerce. I am not here to shop. I am not hear to be sold. If there is a product I need - I'll check the RBC vendors....and ask my recruiting friends for their referrals.

I battle spam from every angle all day long. We as a community should hold ourselves to a little higher standard when it comes to blatant self-promotion.

Until I am otherwise told to stop doing so - each time someone just blatantly spams their product I am going to slap this reply on it.

I myself have personally developed THE MOST INCREDIBLE tool for recruiters to come along in many years - but you don't see my plugging it here every day.........

Love it Jerry. I too choose to use this site for information sharing not for increasing sales...although I'm not really in the position to be selling anything anyway...
AWESOME
Thank you guys/gals for your support......but.....actually I was just thinking I should delete this post. I don't make the rules here - and the guy who does has clearly shown his knack for knowing when to just let things go...... He has been able to grow this garden of recruiting knowledge while rarely having to resort to pulling any weeds. (a little midwest farming reference for ya!).......so for now I guess I'll reserve my "Nice Ad" for times when I am quite certain we all would use it! In fact - go to Obamicon.me to make your own Nice Ad pic!
You missed a couple today though Jerry. It could be a full time job making sure all the companies who are selling things understand that RecruitingBlogs.com was not built so they could avoid paying money to market and promote. In fact, I have been spending a while thinking of a nice way to say that but I don't know of one so that will have to do. You're a good guy Jerry and it's obvious you like it here so Thanks for that, I appreciate it and I am cool with you scaring off anyone you think needs a little scaring.

It's all in the way the post is done. There's a big difference between providing information about vendor services and blatant propoganda. If vendors are regular contributors and understand the culture of the site then they will be respectful and post appropriately. The desperate 'cattle traders' do and will make themselves easy to identify through posts that come across like fingernails going down a chalk board .
Hey Jerry,

Most Scarecrowy of you, not only will it scare off people, it backs up the fact that you are out standing in your field! :)

If there are groans to this.. it's OK.. didn't work on my team here either... one day that analogy will land nicely
absolutely and they know we are all thankful. There is hardly any more aggressive candidate and req pushing here on the network. It was like an all out assault and I fought back and it took time and I banned a lot of so recruiters and for now, I rarely see it like it was. I think it's great that people on this network care enough to talk about it and call people out for it.

...and I'll vouch for Jerry's MOST INCREDIBLE tool for recruiters. It really is cooler than - well, winter in Indianna. Great comments, Jerry; I'm a vendor too, and am very aware of the fine line between contributing and soliciting. Glad you said something.
Hey, Jerry - I've got something important I want to talk to you about. My holding company has given me specific plots of land in the southwest of Florida that are poised for big development, and I want to give you a chance to get your hands on some. I don't need your business - I value it.

This is really going to take off. Care to attend my free seminar, where we'll give you your choice of boat, house, or free vacation just for listening?
You've piqued my interest. I can give you 10 minutes early next week......

Jerry, oh you're a friend of Jason? Well, we have a special friend of Jason's discount. Just bring three friends or family members each with a non-refundable cashier's check of $20,000, and we'll throw in our new, game-changing, Monster and Facebook killer recruiting 3.5 technology. This 10 minutes will be the best investment you've ever made!

I have Thursday open at 9:15, and 11:30. Which would you prefer? I'm only in a town for a few days, and this is an exclusive offer. Start planning your retirement, and say goodbye to house payments and high interest rate credit card bills!
