If you dig checking out the latest web 2.0 techie companies trying to make it big, you should check out TechCrunch50 and review the top finalist.
Yammer's got an interesting spin - TechCrunch calls it, Twitter with a business model.
I'm looking forward to connecting with recruiters in the Dallas/Fort Worth area on Sept. 25th, as John Sumser brings the Recruiting Roadshow back to Texas!
Here's a link to the event - register quickly as seating is limited!
There's a great line-up of speakers, and John's willing to feed you breakfast and lunch just to get you to the event.
The Des Moines, Iowa-based financial services firm underwrites a deal with the local public transit authority that allows its 8,000 employees to ride local buses for free, simply by flashing their company ID's.
I had the pleasure of sharing a table with Bill Vick yesterday morning over a cup of coffee. It's funny....Bill flatters all of us by inviting us to be interviewed for a spot on on XtremeRecruiting.tv,when, actually, he knows more about recruiting than most of us will forget in our life-time.
It's a rare find - a big-billing recruiter who is as kind and considerate as he is humble (our industry… Continue
fyi - if you've failed to read all of your recent emails from LinkedIn, you might want to pay attention to this.
On August, 14th, LinkedIn will begin enforcing a limit to the number of user-created groups any LinkedIn member may be part of at one time. They are setting that limit at membership in 50 (fifty) user-created groups.

- encouraging a stranger in their endeavors
- appreciating the efforts of others and taking action to tell them.
I got one of those today. Jeremiah Reyes took 2… Continue
I'm in the middle of reading a book by Tim Sanders called, Love is the Killer App (how to win business and influence friends).
It's been out since 2002 - I actually picked it up at Half Price Books (which tells you a little about my personality). But here's the best part, it's autographed by Sanders on the front page… Continue

I had the opportunity to meet with Jason Leonard last week. If you are in the recruiting industry and know Jason, you likely met him while he was a Director of Recruiting @ Citi, or, Director of Talent Acquisition at Mosaic. I've known and respected Jason for a number of years - had the priviledge of hearing him speak at the Kennedy…Continue
If you sell a startup or hit it big with your blog, you'll likely end up on TV. The Daily Show's Samantha Bee offers this advice for would-be talking heads:
1. Try not to sweat through your Members Only jacket. If you're prone to perspiring under pressure, wear something that won't show… Continue

Technology, media, and telecommunications are poised for a significant transformation over the next 10 years because of a wireless social networking revolution, according to iSuppli.
It's a new social search engine that employs the power of the top 3 search engine giants: Google, Yahoo and MSN. What's interesting is that you can gain points to redeem for Visa gift cards.
You get points by....searching. Hmmmmm. Seems to easy....I'm sure… Continue
