A Mentor is experienced adviser and supporter: somebody, usually older and more experienced, who advises and guides a younger, less experienced person. The question is why doesn’t everyone have one? I do not care how much experience you have there is always someone with more, someone who know something you do not. I have a mentor, in fact I have 2, one within the staffing world and one in the business world, I am always asking questions, and advice. I am the mentor of several people, some within staffing some out. I really enjoy it, it is very… fulfilling to know you are helping others to succeed, to find themselves and their way. Being a Vet I am part of a Vet mentorship program as well. 

Being a mentor is a way of showing everyone you are interested in helping others, investing in your legacy, in the way you are viewed out in the community. It also grows your network, and it gives you more ears out there for what’s going on, new tools, etc. However as I stated most importantly you are giving back, and if you mentor young adults you are also helping to mold the future of our industry.
