So, today was not a great day. I definitely learned an important lesson...

A) Tags work, be careful how you use them

B) I need to work on my 'inner filters'

I had to pull a few blog posts down because they were not well appreciated by a particular group mentioned. Although when I first found out I was even more irritated after speaking with my leader I realized that my posts were a bit short sighted.

A Short Film from My Generation (y)

I found this video on TalentCloud after Peter Gold followed me on twitter. The site looks very interesting. It should keep me occupied for the rest of the evening.

Job Search in the Cloud

Even with the tremendous growth and use of web applications, people remain the center of a connected job search. To effectively manage your job search you cannot lose sight of the fact that your relationships, while many have moved online, still need the human touch. Talent Is The Problem

(April 03, 2009) I spent the first part of this week at the San Diego ERE Expo. It was an amazing get together with lots of interesting people. Everyone from the north and the east was celebrating the climate. It's not such a big thing for those of us who already live in paradise.

As I watched and listened, I started to realize that we're witnessing a sea change. Our little universe is transforming along…

3. What the company’s ex-workers say about how they were treated… Continue

Recruiting begins at 50

Last week, I turned 50. The number means very little to me; to my parents it’s a sign that either they've lived too long or God has larger plans for them.

That wasn't me writing that last sentence; it was my Jewish mother - the one who still reads the obituaries on Sunday just to gasp at the ones who died of an obscure disease so she can tell my Dad, "See Charlie? You make fun of me but people die of those things." Of course, this is the same woman who once told me that her… Continue

Recruiting must be more than just skills matching... doesn't it?

There was an interesting discussion I was part of the other day, which culminated from a blog post I read over on Recruitingblogs.com where Jane was questioning her own ethics and morals when put in a position to make a placement with a candidate she essentially thought was a jerk. (it was weird, refreshingly so, not a mention on Social networking, technology, or the recession anywhere in the post)… Continue
