130603 Tactecs HR blog SOCIAL RECRUTING DEAD OR ALIVE-08

Social recruiting is a rapidly-growing trend in HR and recruiting space.  Some argue that it is dead and that beyond sourcing more candidates, it really doesn’t help recruiters scale their practice.  We, however, don’t think it is dead...we believe it is just beginning!

Recruiting - less is more or Some Simple Mistakes to Avoid when Trying to Fill a Tough Rec.

Here's a thought.  Less is sometimes more.  Everyone nods their heads sagely.  Of course, sometimes less is more.  It is a cliché almost to say 'less is more'.  Well if it is so blindingly obvious why do so many companies think that 'more is more' when it comes to recruiting?

What do I mean? Well . . .when companies engage an external recruiter to help them with those tough-to-fill bits of headcount that their internal recruiter can't manage why do they think that engaging with…

How Long Does it Take to Find a New Job?

So, how long does it take to find a new job?  I have heard this question a lot over the past year.

The answer to this question is unknown as data, statistics and personal success is difficult to quantify when comparing the total population of people interviewing. In our line of work, underemployed and unemployed friends and relatives seek out our advice.  Usually a resume rewrite, LinkedIn account, and updated resume on a job board will get them further in a hour than 6 months of blindly applying for jobs.
