If I told you there was a very good way to DECREASE your chances of getting a job in medical sales (laboratory sales, pharmaceutical sales, clinical diagnostics sales, imaging sales, DNA products sales, hospital equipment sales, medical device sales, surgical supplies sales, or any healthcare sales) BY OVER 30%, you’d want to know what it was so you could avoid that at all costs, right? Here it is: it’s your Facebook page. Or your MySpace page, or other social networking site…

So I posted yesterday about how some companies are missing the boat for what is more than likely one of two reasons. (If you want the reasons,
hit that article here.) But just like we were taught as children, when we point a finger at someone we subsequently point 3 back at ourselves. (try it!)
Today's article is a challenge to anyone lurking or spectating. The challenge is to those that read blogs, watch…

Video Killed the Microsoft stock. NO, I don't mean Stock as in stock market or wall street trading, I mean stock like Microsoft stock photo's. I have been conducting a lot of "brand scans" lately, looking for the best and worst examples of career websites to use in my Employment Branding presentations - and I must say I am amazed that many of the people on these career sites are the same..... Same ethnicity, same clothes, same happy faces, same everything. If companies really believe…

Practical as ever, this week Claudia gives some good advice to a recruiter who is about to open a can of worms. How would you wiggle out of this one:

Dear Claudia,
I went back to the office to get my car after dinner with friends a few nights ago, and had to use the bathroom. When I came out, I could hear the owner of the firm in a really heated argument with my boss, who was actually getting fired. I left immediately, and don't think they even knew I was there. The next day my boss was at work like nothing was wrong at all. I think the owner is a jerk, and I really like my boss. If he leaves I want to work wherever he goes… Continue

Generally speaking, when it comes to any software solution for Web business, we often ask ourselves: what is the best option? There are so many offers, which one should you choose? Moreover, building an online job board requires much effort today, since the market is heavily competitive. So you, as a site owner, should offer something unique to your online recruitment service users.
You know who never asks this question? Developers who can make there own software. Since we are not…

Most people know us for our work with medical sales! But we do about 15% to 20% of our placements within the technical support groups. So medical technologist, histologist, the molecular field applications, the field (or onsite) service engineer (bmet/cbet) or EE are key persons that we are interested in getting to know. We had a gentleman (bmet) separating from the military that contacted us from Germany! We placed him within 2 weeks of him landing here in the states. I asked him who else he…

You hit the snooze button on your alarm clock for just few more minutes. You are not sure if you want to get out of bed and head to your office. It is cold outside and the commute is an hour and half by bus. After all, you know what's going to happen. You will search for candidates for chewed-out "requirements," submit couple of candidates and wait for a feedback. In between, you will email lots of candidates with no responses. You will leave so many voice mails and no call backs. You then…

Just called into WaMu's customer service line; the first thing I heard was, "We are excited to announce we've become part of JP Morgan Chase!" Talk about laying it on thick. How about the WaMu recruiters in the audience - are you excited?

In the 10+ years that I've been part of the online recruiting community, I've never seen a time when it was possible to learn a rudimentary skill and then pawn oneself off as an expert.
Shally and

Business is booming at PHC Consulting, which is of course a great thing for us, but also a great thing for candidates and client companies in medical sales, laboratory sales, clinical diagnostics sales, pharmaceutical sales, medical supplies sales, hospital equipment sales, imaging sales, pathology sales, DNA products sales, cellular and molecular products sales, medical device sales, and all areas of healthcare sales, marketing, and management. Why? Lots more opportunities for both…

I was wondering how folks around the network are feeling about the business these days. We have certainly felt the impact of the economy, but are fortunately still working on new orders. I am curious to know how things are going in other markets as well as other industries (we specialize in IT and A&F). Here in Atlanta we are also faced with a gasoline shortage, which has really impacted our ability to interview candidates. I'd love to hear how others are feeling about the market. Having…

On news that Wachovia will be changing its logos soon, I proactively called some of my CitiRecruitingFriends to introduce them to my WachoviaRecruitingFriendsWhoAreNowNervousAboutTheirJobs. You know who you are so let's talk today, k?
It's frankly pathetic that the bailout plan has become another political football. Maureen shared a letter from one of her state reps that was replete with political doublespeak and inconsequential emotional junk yet failed to address the reasons how…
