The 22 Immutable Laws of Branding

The 22 Immutable Laws of Branding

Some of my favorites:

The Law of Expansion: The power of a brand is inversely proportional to its scope. Brands that spread themselves across categories lose brand focus, identity, and ultimately market share. Look at the career pages of company websites - sure sounds as if many are trying to be everything to everyone.

HELP TO INTRODUCE CLIENT www.relointernational.net

In the recruiting industry, when recruiters go after and are successful in gaining a recruit for a client, how are the decisions made as to which "on the ground" relocation services/realtor to use?

My client, as a Realtor (R), has many years experience in providing what I consider to be an amazing amount of services to the transferee. He is working with major hospitals and companies in Oil and Gas Industry. My firm is relatively new to this industry, and I am seeking your… Continue

Indian Companies Breaking Through in the USA and GCC Markets

This is a story of how to succeed in the US and GCC markets, and how I can help one of your clients. Many Indian companies find it harder and harder to win US and GCC business.

In 1994, I was one of the first movers in the Indian BPO industry. Through my company, Transcriptions International, Inc., I began the Indian Medical Transcription Industry. Additionally we started the first private contract call center in India, as well as starting businesses in medical billing, legal… Continue

Lower your turnover rate by 6 times…..

Now that I have your attention…..Did you know that the turnover rate for employees under 30 is six times greater than that of employees that are over 50? Yesterday I blogged on http://blog.wiserworker.com/ about tough times, and if your are going to survive and more importantly thrive you need to become tough job seekers. Stay with me……

Overnight I pondered on how this applies to the world of recruiting and guess what it does and in more ways than one. As the labor markets as well as… Continue

Is your website ego driven ART ?

Why do clever, successful, business decision makers frequently make a total hash of things when it comes to their website! Time and time again directors and owners influence their website investment negatively resulting in art not a usable product!

Too often the decision maker of a new website ends up getting highly focused on the look and feel - the design turns into art. The personal likes and dislikes of the decision maker becomes the most important detail.

To the… Continue

Death of a Recruiter

Arthur Miller's "Death of a Salesman" playwright was about Willy Loman who chose the sales profession because he could earn more money. He was a good salesperson but later in his career, he faced all sorts of family and career challenges. Leaving family issues aside, recruiters who chose their profession in the late 1990's are facing their own serious career challenges.

Back in 1998, I stumbled across the recruiting profession. The money was great and the closures were easy. The… Continue

Un-Spun - Just When I Thought I Was Getting The Hang Of It...

I am probably the last person on Planet Earth to actually take a Spin class. When my health club started offering the class about six weeks ago I was hesitant to sign up - I've seen spin classes on TV, on the movies. They all entail some insanely fit instructor with a bullwhip and a megaphone screaming at their students to push, dig deep, DON'T YOU GIVE UP ON ME NOW, etc., etc. It intimidated me! I have enough scary voices in my head without opening myself up to another "motivational"… Continue

Explaining Medical Sales — Part III

There are several things to think about when you are considering job opportunities in medical sales, whether you’re moving into it or moving around in it. In the first part of this series (Explaining Medical Sales - Part I) we talked about what’s involved in capital sales, and in the second part (Explaining Medical Sales - Part II) we covered consumable and service sales and what kinds of personalities best fit different sales jobs. In today’s video, I discuss specific aspects of sales jobs… Continue

Glen Cathey, Boolean Black Belt

Glen Cathey*, the “Boolean Black Belt” believes that there is a hidden talent pool in every database comprised of 2 types of candidates: #1 candidates that recruiters cannot find, and #2 candidates that recruiters do not find (there is a difference). He further declares that this hidden talent pool is at least 30% - 40% of the candidates in each database.

Glen has developed a high level of expertise in sourcing, recruiting, and… Continue

Age Discrimination: McCain was too old!

Not in years but in attitude, energy, and communication style.

Okay - I am sure that I am going to step on some toes here but….I think McCain lost the election because he is “old”. Why do I say this? His platform, knowledge, integrity, and experience were much stronger but he failed to deliver the message because he is uncomfortable with technology, publicity and this new age of communication that we are now in.

He had an opportunity to be on the O’Reilly show at the exact… Continue

Alrighty then.. I'll get active! Sorry oh RBC Community

It's not like I didn't want to be contributing. I'm glad you noticed though! It's good to be missed, although a little confronting, logging into my "My Page", weary from a long couple of days interstate, without the time or ability to feed my addiction of RBC, only to be taken to task for not contributing. "You have no recent activity. Why not start something?"

... sorry. OK OK OK I hear myself sounding like Joe peski (?) in Lethal Weapon
