Leadership and Leadershift.
What is the difference in the two words? This is not a
trick question. It is the "P" and the "FT". In
Leadership, it is central to a person - the leader. In
Leadershift, the focus is on finishing together. In other
words, we want to shift the leader's vision to the entire
organization. This is exactly the goal of High
Performance!
A High Performance organization achieves
outstanding results by making each…

The Tribune bankruptcy might cause a major shake up in the Internet Recruiting market.
Tribune Co. is a 40% owner of CareerBuilder.
Chapter 11 bankruptcy, means the creditors, owners, and a judge have to sort out the debts, and where the money is going to come from.
One possibility is a sale of Tribune's share in CareerBuilder.
Who would buy? Good question. Microsoft could be a buyer. They already own 4% of Careerbuilder. They also have cash, which is what…

I consider myself an experienced - actually very experienced - recruiter. I have over 15 years of experience and I have worked independently for most of that time. Only newbies benefit from rigorous programs like counting calls placed, messages left, emails sent and contacts made, right? Wrong!
I decided to count my calls for a few days to see if it would have an impact on my productivity and my results. I was actually shocked at the results. I got a lot more done when I forced…

In the last several months, there have been a huge number of layoffs. Lots of very talented, experienced, and motivated folks have unfortunately been affected. Earlier this week, I read an article written by GL Hoffman on US News entitled

I’ve been talking with people in various stages of panic over the past few weeks (ummm, months..?), from those beginning to hear the rumblings of imminent layoffs, to those just having felt the axe drop, to those having found themselves on the market for longer than they expected or are comfortable with.
The bad news is that I’m going to continue getting those panicky calls, there is no swift end to the concerns that folks are having about their current or impending…

Can you use twitter for business?
Well, the answer takes more than 140 characters to explain, so I will leave it up to Chris Brogan, social media guru.
Besides finding candidates, does anyone have a suggestion on how to use Twitter for business?

As more and more projects are being canceled due to lack of funding, i.e. Conoco Phillips 6 billion dollar ‘my bad’ from last month. The market is now saturated with many contractors who used to sit on their thrones made from stacks of per diem money as they got paid their “Texas money”, are now faced with the harsh realization that the very teat that used to feed from have dried up!
This has now separated these contractors into 2 categories, in my opinion. The “it was good while it…

Reflections of Self
When we look at other people, we see many of their qualities in innumerable and seemingly random combinations. However, the qualities that we see in the people around us are directly related to the traits that exist in us. "Like attracts like" is one of the spiritual laws of the universe. We attract individuals into our lives that mirror who we are. Those you feel drawn to reflect your inner self back at you, and you act as a mirror for them. Simply put, when you…

So on to the weekend!
So by this time I have have already received 3 job offers. Of course, they are for 100% commission roles, so those are extremely easy to offer since there is no risk on the part of the employer in many ways. The strange part is 2 of them were offers and I hadn't even spoken to anyone yet! How strange is that?

Remember back in the day, say the year 2000? The turn of the century, Y2K, when we all thought the world was going to end. I personally thought that by now I would be flying my Delorean DMC 12 to work or having my robot housemate fetch me some beverages. So, I never got any of that but I did get Wakoopa!
What the hoopa is Wakoopa?
