Any advice for a third party recruiter that identifies the ideal candidate(1 phone interview, 2 face-to-face) for client on a contingent basis only to have the client administer a "personality test" that has "no wrong answers" and you guessed it, the candidate failed. The personality test is from MSI, get this, I took it and failed as well, come to find out that 8 questions out of about 90 determine the "truthfulness" of the entire test. These questions are based on absolutes, for example: Do…

The Information Age can be such a wonderful thing. Well, most of the time anyway. With information shared, referenced and linked so quickly via the internet, sometimes the effect can be less than desirable. Whether it’s a major media outlet or a small web site, things slip through the cracks. Other times, the errors are even bigger.
Take the recent example of an article I read in a local paper about whether relocating for a job was worth it (original article here). The article was picked…

Ok, I've got to say that I'm a little tired of hearing about the economy on the news. Newspapers and TV news love to report the doom and gloom about the economy, especially since it's an election year. "It's the economy, stupid" right? Well, wrong if your a recruiter that's worth their salt.
I lived through and cut my recruiting teeth during the real recession in 2001...9-11 and the dot com bubble burst stopped the economy dead in it's tracks...and yet, my business…

I am just having a rant about people who don't use spell check before they send off their CV's. We did a search on our DB the other day and out of 5000 records 30% of people had put a "t" in the word bachelor. I say to them if you have a Bachelor qualification get it out and look at it before you send in your CV!

Life - It is all that takes place from the first breath we take to the last breath. This is the shortest and the most effective definition of life. Everything that happens does happen for a reason and mostly there are always four or multiple of four factors that affect us or help us. Like the four seasons, the four planetary positions, the four directions and so on. Let us divide our lives into 8 broad areas. These are:…

I became an aunt again. Third, we launched an internal communications vehicle (known as The Buzz), which is published Monday/Wednesday/Friday. Fourth, I got elected to…

Now lets examine another interesting question.
ATS systems what is the value to a corporation versus a staffing company?
Corporations-- some have ATS systems, some don't. Usually the problem is that the ATS system isn't integrating properly with the HRIS system. I have worked on site at several companies. Each one has had to make modifications to its system or had to have someone on board to enter new employees into the HRIS system because the company didn't…
