Maybe, I am a geek but I had to forward this one as I was pleasantly surprised with this new search engines marketing approach to maybe making the search engine a little more personable.
Thanks to Suzy Tonini for putting this on my radar
Enjoy !…

By Dave Mendoza, Master Cybersleuth, an Affiliate Partner, JobMachine Inc.
Yesterday I hit 8,000 connections on Linkedin.
I am stating it not to boast - I don’t throw footballs in the end zone with creative knee wobbling.
I simply want to mark the occasion to publicly thank everyone who has connected with me.
I thought Glenn…

Today’s bit of Friday morning humor focuses on two characters in the online recruiting industry. Personally, I think it’s interesting how people view characters in our industry; some as heroes, some as villains, but we all play some type of role somewhere. Like Animal, who I see playing the “Creepy Uncle” role, you know the…

With all due respect to Slouch, he created Recruitingblogs.com, not I. Dave Copps was still very kind in his mention of me in a recent Sourcecon email. More here: Props From Copps

After listening (or not listening to, as the case may be) to all the secrets about to be unveiled on RecruitingBlogs via the
Recruiting Animal Shhhhooooowwww, I couldn't help but wonder if RecruitingBlogs could add value with content from outside the recruiting industry.
Not simply sum-ups of what other people are writing about as we often see here, but rather first run content generated by less accessible guests with their thrust…

According to a
press release from the Conference Board, Americans are increasingly growing unhappy with their jobs.
More then 60% of people define themselves by their jobs and the contributions they make to them. When employees don’t feel valued in the workplace, it becomes a retention issue.
It wasn’t that long ago when employees were employees…

No, that's not a typo in my title, the ink I am referring to is getting ink, as in tattoos. These days, tattoos and piercings are being more and more common place - when I see then, they are just as normal to me as earrings or a guy with a beard. I was wondering over the weekend if I am alone in this fact, or if it is becoming more socially and corporately accepted to be tatted and pierced in the workplace.
The reason for my pondering began as I sat getting new ink Friday night…

It was about time I made a review of Jobster.com, the new emerging Portal for Jobseekers and Recruiters. I seemed to good to be real: free adding of vacancies for recruiters and unlimited access to potential candidates. On top of it all, they offer a Networking solution integrated with it all.
So I had a close look at it and had some pleasant and promising surprises and some that where less promising.
<span style="font-weight: bold;">First the overall…

Recruiters and Helping Friends: I have a host of passive becoming very active candidates looking for options..
Greetings from beautiful Colorado. I am here on business this week, and while working some pretty long hours, wanted to make a call for recruiters and hiring managers, a call for partnership. I have a number of professionals available for work now, many of whom I have worked with for 5-10 years, coming available for work soon due to outsourcing activities.
LET ME…

"Start right now: as of this moment you're going to think of yourself differently! You're not an "employee" of General Motors, you're not a "staffer" at General Mills, you're not a "worker" at General Electric or a "human resource" at General Dynamics (ooops, it's gone!). Forget the Generals! You don't "belong to" any company for life, and your chief affiliation isn't to any particular "function." You're… Continue

Change happens. We might not be able to control it. However, we can certainly control how we respond to it. In dealing with organizational change, it’s important for company
leaders to have a clear understanding of what change management is in order to successfully implement it.
Managing change refers to making changes in a planned or systematic fashion. It involves supporting…

"Bridges are, with skyscrapers and dams and similar monumental
structures, the visible representation of our technical mastery over
the physical universe. In the past half century, software has emerged
as an invisible yet pervasive counterpart to such world-shaping human
artifacts...
At first this sounds like an outlandish and self-serving claim. civilization got along just…
