If prospects and candidates paid your salary...

Ask 100 prospects and you will hear 100 complaints about your ATS. Or any ATS. What we see as a "necessary evil," your prospects see as more evidence that you care far more about your internal processes, in making things easier for you than in attracting great talent.

Is it true? Would you be willing to start from scratch to build systems that are geared towards your…

Using an Agency Recruiter. Waving the White flag or Smart?

After being on both sides of the recruiting fence I get the pride a corporate recruiter has in doing their job.  I made the jump to the agency recruiting this year and if anybody understands how things work inside a big corporation, it is me.  I have written more over the past couple of years about corporate recruiting than I care to admit.  After all, I am doing what I once…

The New Salary Negotiation

Given the transparency coming from companies like Glassdoor and PayScale, the salary negotiation process has been an evolving one.  Once upon a time all of the intel was traditionally on the company’s side of the table.   Unless a candidate had a friend or colleague at the company he did not have access to the range of pay available.    The salaries on Glassdoor are employee…

Caution

We are not the least bit impressed with Zero Fee Recruiter.  They promise to deliver you high quality drivers that match your criteria, which we laid out in great detail, and they delivery us a bunch of unqualified drivers or drivers that do not even hold a CDL.  I strongly advise anyone that if you are looking for a recruiting group to help with your needs, stay away from Zero Fee Recruiter.  They are certainly not worth the money they charge you.

Dear recruiter, 15 reasons why you lost the best candidate ever

As a career strategist I’m privy to conversation from job candidates who are at the mercy of internal and third-party recruiters. I say mercy because before they can sell themselves to the hiring manager, they have to get past the recruiter.
