By building your own Talent Network, you provide your recruiting organization with a new and most importantly free recruiting channel that you can use to find the best candidates for future open positions. Building your Talent Network, however, is not just about throwing candidate information in a database but it is about improving your overall candidate sourcing and recruiting channels (to increase the number of qualified candidates in your Talent Network) and making sure these candidate…

I was checking out the SHRM Staffing conference Twitter feed the other day and an interesting question was brought up by Gerry Crispin:
When does a candidate become a candidate?
This is a great question and it got me thinking about a question that is just as pertinent to recruiting organizations:
When does candidate experience begin?
There seem to be a…

One of the hardest things to deal with when you are evaluating marketing and recruiting channels is working through your perceived value vs. the actual performance that they provide.
You have great relationships with your vendor contacts and they bend over backwards to make you happy until you are satisfied with the value their solution provides. They say all the right things and prove why their solution will work for your business with plenty of case study…

A few years ago, I worked with a company that started an initiative that was called Customer Touchpoints. This initiative was designed to track and ultimately enhance every interaction that an end customer had with our brand, products, employees and company as a whole. With the thought being that enhancing these interactions would make for happier customers that lead to a better bottom line. This is nothing new. Companies, in particular marketing organizations, have been trying to better…

Recruiting metrics are integral to bringing in top talent to an organization and every successful recruiting strategy has a successful reporting solution that is underneath it. Through this reporting, the organization is able to set goals and measure the success of every one of their recruiting initiatives.
Most importantly, a successful recruiting organization will collect and track important…

So we’ve all seen this story before. You posted your new job to your recruiting channels this morning and when you take a look at your ATS the next day you see a discouraging sight: NO applicants. You wonder what’s wrong with your recruiting funnel and instantly take a look at your recruiting metrics to identify the potential bottleneck. Starting at the beginning of the…

For any recruitment technology, there comes a point when they need to decide how they are going to expand and innovate their platform. Do they build in-house or do they look for partnerships with white label technology providers?
There are positives and negatives of both strategies, however, let’s take a look specifically at white label technologies and the value it provides to technology solutions. White Label technology providers create and innovate solutions that are…

I think we can all agree that collecting recruiting metrics in your recruitment process is important! Not only does it help you understand what's working and what's not in your recruitment funnel but it enables you to make actionable decisions on your recruitment marketing mix and strategy.
The key, however, is creating a dashboard of sorts within your recruitment process that enables you to view…

I was lucky enough to attend this Tuesday’s #TChat (which you should attend if you are on Twitter) and there was a great conversation on “Best Practices Evaluating, Purchasing & Implementing HR/Recruiting Tech & Software”. Long title, but a pretty interesting conversation between HR / Recruiting professionals with a few vendor opinions mixed in. I encourage you to read the recap on the…

The NCAA tournament is gloriously upon us and like every year there are teams that watched their team’s bubble burst on Selection Sunday (unfortunately including my alma-mater Boston College). While their resumes were all good enough to make the tournament (and some think better than some teams that made it), the selection committee had to turn them away as they could ONLY select 68 teams. Now the bubble bursting teams search for the next opportunity and move on to play the NIT as a…
