“In job transition” is a commonly used phrase I hear more and more these days. As the recruiting manager for a sales consulting firm, I receive and review dozens of resumes on a daily basis. When recently asked how many of those resumes were well written, properly formatted, and didn’t violate the ‘no spelling errors’ rule I responded, “About 10%”- That’s scary!

It is an interesting role, being a sourcer and supporting multiple recruiters. Recruiters often tell me that they have searched every paid resume board, all the freebies, LinkedIn, the ATS, etc. and they just can't find anyone that fits the spec. Is it possible to be too aggressive in the search for a job? I say NO, in some cases I am sure it’s happened however more commonly job seekers tend to send a resume or fill out an application and then wait and then, well ….wait some more. To those job seekers I say….get out there and make it happen!
