Glen Cathey*, the “Boolean Black Belt” believes that there is a hidden talent pool in every database comprised of 2 types of candidates: #1 candidates that recruiters cannot find, and #2 candidates that recruiters do not find (there is a difference). Not in years but in attitude, energy, and communication style.
Okay - I am sure that I am going to step on some toes here but….I think McCain lost the election because he is “old”. Why do I say this? His platform, knowledge, integrity, and experience were much stronger but he failed to deliver the message because he is uncomfortable with technology, publicity and this new age of communication that we are now in.
He had an opportunity to be on the O’Reilly show at the exact…

It's not like I didn't want to be contributing. I'm glad you noticed though! It's good to be missed, although a little confronting, logging into my "My Page", weary from a long couple of days interstate, without the time or ability to feed my addiction of RBC, only to be taken to task for not contributing. "You have no recent activity. Why not start something?"
... sorry. OK OK OK I hear myself sounding like Joe peski (?) in Lethal Weapon

The sheer quantity of different information sources online has resulted in a media circus. The various blogs, tweets and mainstream media outlets are like different acts vying for user attention. Online reputation management amid all the chaos can be difficult. It seems only appropriate that a circus insider, Jessica Berlin of Cirque du Soleil, weighed in with some tried and true…

I remember at my first recruiting position how scared I was to pick up the phone to talk to someone. I could feel sweat start to drip from the back of my neck and my voice started to quiver as I asked for their name. I figured emailing would suffice and I could fill jobs that way, right? WRONG. I had no idea what I was doing or what I was asking. All I knew was that I wanted to get off the phone and make the next call so the day could be over. Well, years later I hardly use email and would…

“In job transition” is a commonly used phrase I hear more and more these days. As the recruiting manager for a sales consulting firm, I receive and review dozens of resumes on a daily basis. When recently asked how many of those resumes were well written, properly formatted, and didn’t violate the ‘no spelling errors’ rule I responded, “About 10%”- That’s scary!
It's hard not to feel sympathetic to those that have been 'downsized' out…

The Treasury Secretary said it was clear by the time Congress passed the Tarp legislation that the plan to buy assets would “take time to implement and would not be sufficient given the severity of the problem”. Capital injections offered a “more powerful” way to shore up the financial system and support lending.
“I will never apologise for changing an approach or strategy when the facts change,” Mr Paulson said.
There are so many people to blame here but it makes…
