Hmmmm . . . sound familiar? Let me ask all internal Talent Acquisition Pros:
How well do you know your CandidateCustomer Segments? (Yes, the word CandidateCustomer is together to illustrate a point.)
"-- CRM Gets Social --
A survey conducted recently by The Economist Intelligence Unit aims to shed some light on the disconnect between companies' desire to be more customer-centric and where the focus of new CRM initiatives should be. The report recommends…

The advent of the electronic resume was supposed to create a hiring utopia for corporate America. Job-seekers could send their resumes into corporations who could slide, dice, filter, and parse this data into actionable intelligence.
What happened? A glut of data overwhelmed the ability of recruiters to work efficiently, and the rapid change of data (from contact numbers to jobs to cities) made it difficult to say that information sent to a…

I read an article by Debra Walker at NetTemp's Crossroads Newsletter titled the "Ten Things a Recruiter will never tell you". Naturally I was curious, since I consider myself a fairly open book and am not afraid to discuss much of anything with a candidate. I still can't figure out how to paste a link into this blog, so my apologies for you having to cut and paste this into a browser: http://www.net-temps.com/adcgi/banner.cgi?ref=crnews&ch=2885&id=crs_2885.

We are up and running now about 30 days in Singapore. Partnerships are being formed, proposals written, and job orders are under search! The new and improved website should be up this week as well, designed by those fabulously artistic guys in Bangkok!
I have a one off candidate search going on now in the Middle East. It is a spin-off from SAP consulting recruitment we do. It looks like this:

The title of today’s post is a reference to the Reality TV Show “The Last Comic Standing”. As a professional talent scout, I am enthralled with any reality show that has to do with the talent selection process. I get hooked on the suspense of determining the “cream of the crop”. There are several interesting aspects to the format of these shows that are applicable to the hiring process.
They start by casting a large net
As painful as it is to generate a big…

My daughter's first birthday is in a couple of weeks and I have to say that I'm taken aback at my reaction to her first year of life. Fatherhood is amazing.
Everyone thought that we were having a boy because of how my wife was carrying (we waited to find out), except for me. Something inside my soul told me that we were having a girl, and low and behold, almost a year ago she arrived and turned me and my wife into a family.
I could not love my daughter more than I do and know that…

These days, people drop the acronym “SEO” as if it’s as familiar as “FBI” or “PETA.” That’s because it is.
Search engine optimization – part art, part science, part Google voodoo – is the practice of developing online content that helps people in your target demographic find you via search engines. And it’s a fast-growing, multi-billion-dollar industry.
For those working in HR, the right SEO strategy can be the difference between superstar job seekers finding your jobs today, or…

Has anyone worked with Professional Corporate Search Incorporated, the good, great, bad and ugly news about the company? I am currently talking with them; they are virtual, totally commissioned based company and wanted to see if anyone out there has worked with them or know of someone that has?
Look forward to all responses.
Thanks,

With the advent of new technologies, such as blogs, podcasts and vlogs, it is even more important for the self promoting recruiter to maintain an active presence. Because I recognize this, I try my best to stay connected through social networking, etc.
This is why I'm here.
So, to my
old friends and
especially the friends I've yet to meet, allow me to say; "Hello!"
I first entered the business in 1993 at Olsten in Phoenix, AZ. Since that time I…

If one is going to affect meaningful change in the face of LinkedIn's passive-aggressive resistance toward you and other vocal “activists” -- anticipating that the majority will continue to squeeze LinkedIn for as long as gives them a drop of something and eventually abandon you on to luxuriate on the moral high-ground – it seems to me that perhaps you should consider the value of sticking it out over packing it in.
So reads one of the comments in a long,…

This is more of a question than a pure blog post. What do you all do (if anything) when you come across a resume, say on Career Builder, of someone who works for your company?
I have had this happen several times in recent past and am wondering if anyone has examples of what happened. Did you tell their boss? Contact them directly? Do nothing? I'm saddened, of course, because I've found one recently for an individual who is a top performer in the company. I don't know the situation…
