There are a lot of discussions going on across the internet concerning change as well as the new technologies taking place that can assist recruiters in various ways. So, I'm remaking the website with a new purpose and a new domain. So onlinerecruitingnews.com will be a coop of 50 dues paying job boards who want to increase their visibility. Whether or not you want to become a coop member, you'll still be welcome to… Continue

NEW IDEA

The same old job boards don't work (including spiders). We need to have a website with a new methodology to be able to connect candidates with job openings with more selectivity. Instead of hiring managers receiving hundreds of resumes (most don't qualify) - they would receive ONLY the qualified ones (a much smaller quantity).

Job boards as economic indicators

As I was sorting through the usual spate of ‘job boards are dead’ articles, I noticed other more interesting types of articles: pieces that point to job board postings as indicators of the state of the economy. (Monster has published their Employment Index since 2004.)

Makes sense, doesn’t it? If job boards are posting more… Continue

Cats, Ghosts and Other Scary Stuff

In true Halloween fashion I could not resist using the title to represent the different type of individuals that make a team function (or not function) as the case may be for some of you reading this.

In Patrick Lencioni’s best-selling book, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, he tells us a story about one firm’s executive team struggling with utter dysfunction. Ineffective communication, multiple egos, fear, office politics and judgmental attitudes were all contributing to the absence… Continue

How looking back can shape our future

As a society, we are very focused on the future and how we want to shape and change things. We tweet, we blog, we discuss, we meet all about how things ’should’ be. Yet rarely do we (Gen Y) actually take the time to really understand how we got to this point in the first place. We are a generation of thinkers. We are a generation of now. We are a now generation that see’s it isn’t right and just wants to jump in and fix it. We are a generation who (in many respects) doesn’t take the time to… Continue
