A few weeks ago, I wrote a blog about how many feel that HR is losing the battle of delivering a positive candidate experience. When I read in Peter’s newsletter his thoughts on…

It’s a well known fact that some people lie on their resumes. There are plenty of statistics around that show the percentages. Some people embellish a little, some embellish a lot, and some outright lie. Most of the time, that lie is about their education. According to the Society for Human Resource Management, one in four candidates misrepresents his or her educational attainment. If someone lies on their resume, how can you trust them as an employee?
I can remember several…

Let’s face it, not every prospective candidate who applies will be selected for a job opening. However, the way in which your organization treats each applicant during the recruiting process may determine whether or not your employment brand can continue to attract top candidates.

The answer may be simpler than one would expect: humans don’t like doing things that they are not great at, especially if there are grave consequences when executed poorly.
Hiring can make or break any business. This is especially true with small and medium-sized businesses. In general, most people are not very good at hiring employees. In fact, according to…

At 31Projects (www.31projects.com), we strongly support the principal that students should be paid fairly for the value they create for organizations. Even though money is typically not students’ primary motivation for participating in projects, we ensure that project sponsors compensate students fairly for the time and effort the students put into their project.
There’s been a decent amount of discussion in the press lately…
