Online Recruitment - Post Crunch
thoughts from http://workhound.co.uk
There seems to be a broad macroeconomic consensus, that the deleveraging of carry trades, the tightening in credit markets, and the revaluing of broad basket of assets, will depress economic growth for the next several quarters. This speculation seems to be on solid footing and individuals/orgs like Fred Wilson, Jason Calacanis, and Sequoia have offered thoughts on the shifting economic landscape and how…

We all know that in IT technical skills and experience are highly transferable and its nice to know that in these tough economic times you can change from one declining industry to a more stable or growing industry. However, one of the things that we are seeing in recent years that is making such a change more difficult is that of the size of your current organization. Yes, size matters to your ability to switch positions, and specifically the size and scope of your role and function needs to…

Anyone that has recently been looking for an applicant tracking system (ATS) has more than likely discovered the large number of solutions and vendors out there. While I remain loyal to
JobDig Tracker, I found that
TalentManagementTech offers a medium for HR professionals and recruiters to browse around different ATS solution information that is provided directly from vendors. In addition, you can find…

There are so many dos and don’ts to remember when interviewing for a job in medical sales, pharmaceutical sales, laboratory sales, clinical diagnostics sales, DNA products sales, surgical supplies sales, or biotechnology sales that it can play havoc with your confidence. One way to lessen your nerves when navigating the job interview process is to think of it less as a test, and more as a conversation. They’re finding out about you…you’re finding out about them. Easier said than done, I know,…

Jonathan Duarte asks, "
If Indeed is getting most of the content from ATS’s directly, why would they continue accepting content from a duplicate source that is not adding to their brand?"
Ever felt like you were suckered into a post? Awe, what the heck...

Money is the answer, isn't it usually? Indeed has smartly positioned themselves as a…

Dear Claudia,
My marriage of 13 years ended a few months ago when my husband moved in with another woman. I haven’t said anything about it at work, but I know I’ll have to eventually. The holidays are coming, and I’m thinking about using up my vacation to avoid the parties and the inevitable explanations I’ll have to make about where Tom is. I’d really just like to avoid all the questions; what do you suggest?

I've always thought that Slouch was cool; as a result of getting to know him virtually, when we finally met in NYC some years back, I thought he was even cooler. You know what I'm talking about - Slouch is a smooth talking, cyber-squattin', mojo-with-a-phone homeboy from the mean streets of Toronto.
When I saw Jerry Albright's I-Wanna-Be-Like-Slouch picture (that it seems he took down after I talked to him about my idea), I knew I too wanted to be like Slouch.
So here's my…
