Over the next few weeks we will be embarking on an investigation into the job board widget, by taking a look at a range of widgets offered by UK job boards. We will present the pros and cons of each widget, finishing up with a comparison of all the widgets we’ve reviewed.
Before we do our first review, [continue reading]…
Seth Godin wrote a post called "Why bother having a resume?” in which he claims that truly extraordinary people do not require the standard job-seeking dossier. His point is that your “presentation” should include other tools to display your talents; these would include an insightful blog, fantastic recommendations from respected individuals, a sophisticated project… Continue

When it comes to the business world, Steve Jobs is the Man. Period.
This guy creates value in just about everything he touches - Is every new product Apple launches a blockbuster? . . . No, but his track record is a laundry list of immense successes. If you owned Apple stock just 12 months ago, I'm sure you'd agree. 12 months ago to the day, you could have bought AAPL at $95/share on… Continue

I am off to San Diego tomorrow for the Spring 2008 ERE Expo and I am excited to network with folks to see how our profession has progressed over the last 6-9 months.
Listed below are the top things I want to do/accomplish while at the Expo.
Article Title: When I refer to references...
Author Byline: the medical sales recruiter
Author Website: http://www.phcconsulting.com/
References are so often an after thought, but they shouldn’t be. They should be on your mind (at least once a month). Even if you are not currently looking for a job. Let me explain. I will start with the negatives (those things you should pay attention to not do!).

Rant of the day: Clowns and/or A**holes are self-appointing themselves as Mentors.?. !!!
Yes, yes, this is truly a growing problem . . . word on the street is that in the recruiting and business world, Clowns and/or A**holes (in the Bob Sutton sense) are appointing themselves as Mentors. I had to restate this as just saying it once doesn't let it sink in enough.
This kind of reminds me of John Adams episode #2 on HBO where Abigail tells Johnny-Boy, "You have overburdened… Continue

There are so many places now to set up networking that it is getting a bit overwhelming. Between the actual work of the day and famliy responsibilities I am finding that I do not have a lot of extra time to devote to the sites to keep up with it all. Cheers to time management!
Just posted on my blog about my new search for a Sourcer to add to my team - that begins today and that I expect to have complete and filled VERY quickly. I'm looking for any suggestions and thoughts on additional screening questions - and of course any recommendations for any hard working sourcers looking to speak to me would be great if they felt so inclined to use the contact page to reach me.
When experiencing an issue as the Human Resources Manager, or a coroporate recruiter, where are you sourcing the solutions to your problems? Google? Analyst? Trade Shows? Your thoughts are appreciated!
Hello Professional Recruiters on RecruitingBlogs.com!

1. Will allow us to keep our data in our server only
2. Will scan our disk looking for resumes in txt format, and import them into the ATS
3. Will be simple and intuitive to use
4. Will have a real person, tech… Continue
