Tweet chats are conversations or discussions which take place using Twitter. I had the honour of taking part in two of them this week, (#radchat on Tuesday evening and #T-chat on Wednesday evening) and was impressed with what I saw. The passion which people displayed when expressing their points on a particular question was nothing short of contagious.
As a relative new-comer to the experience, I fully expected to just observe; meaning sit at my PC and watch the…

How? Do you have a plan? Do you have a routine or ritual? Or do you just run “off the cuff” and hope all the day-stars will line up correctly…

Today I have decided to talk about a key part of business and operations: The Mission Statement. For a full definition of what a mission statement is, please refer to Wikipedia or a fantastic book by Stephen R. Covey entitled “7 Steps of Highly…

Let me throw all the crap against the wall and lets just see what sticks!! It seems to me that the older I get; the more I hear about the people who have forgotten about why they got in “The Game” and settle instead into complacency and give up on the successes they had plans for or the dreams they once held near and dear. This is not…

The eyes and the mind can play tricks on you and on your ability to accomplish a days task successfully. Case in point; look at the picture to the left and make a note of what you see…..do you see the black dots? Are they there or is it just in your mind? Stuff like this happens on a daily basis when we allow the mind to wander—> the eyes will see what the mind reveals, and you will believe this as fact. How does this factor into the work day? Simple…
You make a “To-Do”…

Look in the mirror and ask yourself -“Can I perform my duties to the best of my abilities today? Or is this going to be one of those rare days that I am just going to go through the motions?” Answer honestly, because that will set the tone for your day as well as set your mind-set (good or bad).
If you genuinely believe that you will be successful today, then you will feel a little glow of positive energy which should carry you through the day…

Today I thought I would take a detour off of the beaten path and look with a fresh insight at what it takes to dream and to create…
The mind is a wonderful thing; always operating even when we are sleeping. It provides us with a place to store knowledge and ideas, and when it is functioning properly it challenges us to create a better lifestyle for ourselves and our family. It is full of untapped potential for imagination, creativity, or a source which provides the…

To me, there seems to be two types of people in the workforce: Those that can and those that wish they could. Once we realize which of the two groups we are currently in, then we can take the steps necessary to advance to the more prestigious group. It has been beaten into us from the time we are old enough to understand that we always have to be…

Change occurs all the time, usually in subtle ways but occasionally in a manner that feels like a ton of bricks were dropped on your head. This then leads to a lot of questions and sometimes a little hesitation as a new direction is chosen and the path is mapped out. Unsure of the destination you head out (knowing that the journey is half as much fun as reaching the destination.)
This is usually the point where you start to ask questions, verify the new goals and set up the strategy…

“It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to your enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends”- Dominique Pirolo, 2011
It is an interesting thought that we would give that much power over our affairs to people who may not always have our best interest at thought.
Dealing with those who go against the grain is nothing new, so to think these individuals will agree to your ideals is quite a stretch. Its those whom we refer to as friends that deserve to be…

“People will hate you, rate you, break you, and shake you; How strong you stand is what makes you”- Judy Reynolds, Facebook 2011.
Interesting comment I received via Facebook the other night. And how timely and true it could really be. Everyone wants to be number #1, sometimes so much so, that they forget the things they felt were important at one time, or feel that success is the be all and end all. To me, this all comes down to merit, how much faith we place in ourselves; and how…

This is probably a topic I have already had my say on. If not, please let me ramble for a few minutes on the importance of some personal information on an online profile (used to acquire business)
I think it is safe to say that most of us are active on Linked In, Twitter, Facebook, Recruiting Blogs, (or any blog in general) and on these and many other sites we have been asked to provide some information of a personal nature (Name, E-mail, Phone Number, or any way someone can contact…

How many people took part in this weeks election? Of that, how many voted based on the local candidate and how many went with the party as a whole? I know that’s pretty much the same question, but sometimes staying with the local guy will help with local problems. Enough. Here is the real question, How many of us understood the big picture; and how many of us went in thinking that one vote won’t change the landscape?
How does the preamble relate to recruiting, sourcing and our place…

One word, Five letters, Able to do a lot of good or create a lot of damage. Something usually given too early and withdrawn too late. It’s hard to give at first, and real scary to receive. My question today: When do you know the time is right to “use” Trust ? This is open-ended as it could pertain to people, to jobs, to life-situations; basically to anything or anyone you feel will help you accomplish your end-goal in life.
Sure I understand that we must have enough respect for…

In this day and age where every little look means something, and every little phrase or #tweet means something else, where do we draw the line? At work, we are expected to achieve certain goals and carry a certain aura around us, In our personal life we spend an equal amount of time (or more) trying to distance ourselves from our work persona to lead a relatively happy home life. My question is this….What would happen if we just chose to put forth one (1) image and let the chips fall where…
