How would you like to get 'the inside information' on how to be successfully recruited with the Pharmaceutical industry.
Every industry has their own 'system' of recruitment.
Right now around the world the health and pharmaceutical industries are amongst the fastest growing industries. This is due mainly because of the aging "Baby Boomer" population who make up more than 1/3 of the world population.
To find out how to access this 'inside information' to go…

With the wealth of information provided via the internet coupled with the advent of social media, an organization can no longer attempt to paint a picture of itself in the marketplace and trust this alone to shape people’s perceptions. There are countless sources available to someone wanting to know the “real story.”
That “real story” is paramount in employer branding.
Consider this recent experience:
Last week, I discovered a great new startup, the kind of…

I live in Chapel Hill North Carolina. Down here we know that God is a Tarheel fan and that's why he made the sky Carolina Blue. Many years (this year included and unfortunately last year as well) we don't hope for a National Championship, we expect it. So every Heels game in the tournament is a real nervous affair. The famous line for favorites in the tourney is just Survive and Advance. So any way we can get a win and move on is what we're after.
Over the last several months as I've…

Right around this time of year I always seem to have a soft spot for the slightly (or severely) disadvantaged. For some reason March Madness is something I can't pass up and I always love a good Cinderella story. Which got me to thinking - there are underdogs everywhere, not just in sports, and in times like these it must be tough to be in the shoes of the little guy.
Clearly recruiting feels the sting of a bad economy, and I'd wager to say it makes things very tough for the 'mom and…

People come to My Perfect Gig to look for their perfect engineering gig and in this economy you expect people to to be relentless. Some folks are unemployed and looking and other have a gig but are keeping their eyes open because many employers are making difficult choices and cutting to the bone (see WSJ article on severance pay). Despite all of the craziness and stress, we saw people pull away a little this week on the pursuit of career perfection.
We had St. Patricks Day and the…

Google exec Brian Bershad on Twitter: Google has no interest in its own version of "real time search."
"There's relatively little data in Twitter," Bershad said. "I think if you could take a Twitter-like service and combine it with a lot of other data sources about the users, you might be able to come up with something more interesting."
That's what
TwitterJobSearch.com does. Goes beyond the tweet.

Toni Bowers writes a nice one here about three questions that should be asked during an interview...
1. What can you tell me about the people I’ll be working with?
2. How do you approach problem solving?
3. What do you see as the ultimate goal of your department or team?
I'm not set on the second question; the first should distinguish between professional and personal and the second really…

In my experience most Recruiters or Human Capital Sourcing and Talent Acquisition Specialists (I like writing that:)) dread the word Metrics. I will agree that in our profession the most basic Metric is number of hires in a defined time frame ie 30, 60, 90 etc days. Oversimplified? Yes I do believe it is.
Metrics is much more than that. Metrics, when used correctly, is a road map for the successful hires. Allow me to outline some KPIs.
Date position was opened and… Continue
