Me too! Me too! Me too!

"The Treasury Department is under siege by an army of hired guns for banks, savings and loan associations and insurers — as well as for improbable candidates like a Hispanic business group representing plumbing and home-heating specialists. Swerving Through Challenge

A day comes where your mind opens up to the fact that challenge will never be fully under control, only managed.

On November 9th I turned 30, and hit an interesting horizon of sorts. It was as if looking on and reviewing the past suddenly all was clear. I graduated from SJSU in 2005, hoping to find my way forward in the jungle that is career. So many things each day will pull you into multiple shifting directions that to regain the focus is a critical skill, increasingly important,… Continue

LinkedIn to Lay Off 10 Percent of Staff

By Chris Snyder WIRED Magazine

A spokesperson with the career-based social networking site told Reuters that the cuts are preemptive to make sure the company remains cash-flow positive, and that the decision was made by management, not investors.

One of its backers, Sequoia Capital,… Continue

LinkedIn: The Site That Likes a Bad Economy

By JOSH QUITTNER

Here's a company I wish were public so everyone could share in its success: LinkedIn, the social network for business people.

While MySpace got to critical mass first and Facebook became the poster child for the social-network generation, LinkedIn has always been the tortoise in this race. I think of it as the anti–social network. Although every savvy white-collar worker in the U.S. has a LinkedIn account — basically just a page that lists résumé and… Continue
