Job Market Concerns Haven’t Stopped Hiring Demand for Recruiters

Despite reports of rising unemployment and layoffs, hiring demand for Recruiters has steadily increased this year.  In July, direct employers and staffing firms advertised more than 10,000 new jobs online for Recruiters and Employment Specialists – up 15% since the beginning of the year.

A Quirky Opening in the Newark Job Market

This is one of those stories where it can be seen either as a sad commentary on urban America or a hopeful spot in the American job market.  The Newark, New Jersey City Government approved a new law requiring small restaurants in the city to have an armed guard on the premises, during the evening hours.  This comes in the wake of a drive-by shooting at a Newark restaurant where an off-duty police officer was killed.

Is threre really a war for talent or are Recruiters playing the shuffle game?

I guess the title is self explanatory. Companies are far less looking at recruiters to assess potential candidates. All they want is to steal from their competitors. If a recruiter works a certain niche market, he/she can make a good living just shuffling one person over to the competitor.
