OMG it's been a WHILE since I last wrote in here! Thanks to one of my wonderful candidates for reminding me I still have a blog! :)
Also recently I got a less than nice message about my LinkedIn profile picture, sent straight to my vmware.com account. Just want to say to whoever it was: NOT COOL! Definitely NOT appreciated! And unless you have something nice to say, find something better to do with your time instead of writing hate… Continue

On the show this week: RiseSmart secures funding, TMP partners with SelectMinds and is February the new January for online recruiting?
While speaking at John Sumser's Las Vegas Recruiting Roadshow, I mentioned how a social network for bloggers, BlogCatalog.com, was working on several applications to help streamline social networks. Last night, they launched SocialStream, which adds portability to social network data in the form of a widget.

Here is a link to a short online training on successful e-mail marketing methods. It provides a good overview of things to consider before developing an email campaign. It was developed by MMS which markets specifically to physicians but the training is relevant to any industry. Enjoy.
I know many of you on Recruitingblogs last year were the most active participations in the SourceCon sourcing challenges (Particularly those OS2i Sourcers). Since all you RecruitingBlog members are so special, I am here to let you know that the first challenge will go live on Monday the 10th of March at 12:00pm… Continue

A door-to-door Vacuum Cleaner Salesman manages to bull his way into a woman’s home in a rural area.
“This machine is the best ever!” he exclaims, while pouring a bag of dirt over the lounge floor.

It's my first time blogging so please be gentle on me! While adding Yahoo Messenger to my arsenal of communication tools to stay in touch instantly with the outside world, I noticed something called Chatrooms and wondered, have any of you effectively set up or gone into the computer rooms to recruit? What are your war stories for methods you thought were creative but failed miserably? What worked that you never thought would? I look forward to hearing your inspiring… Continue

Now I’m not picking on the guy, he was a candidate of mine several months ago. He ended up finding a job on his own…the "perfect job" he told me at the time. Hey, it happens.… Continue

First I want to thank those that commented and offered me help in learning how to be successful in recruiting. You can expect my call sooner or later. To give you a little background, I started my recruiting career on day 1 at the Ranch with Peter Lefkowitz. I got lots of information some of which made sense, but most of which I could not relate to having never experienced anything in recruiting. I work for an old friend of mine who has been in the business for about 17 yrs. He has been pretty… Continue
