Are Your Hiring Requirements Truly Necessary?
In today's Talent Driven market-place, a true trend to watch is whether your requirements are truly necessary to do the job in the first place. Today, many organizations have tight requirements in their staffing push that are:

When it comes to writing your CV, the first impression really counts. The employer can be easily put off by any tiny mistakes. Therefore, it is very important to know how to write a nice CV. The chronological CV is the most common used format in resume writing. It lists your work experience chronologically from the most recent job to the earliest you were involved in. This format should be straight forward and simple. Make sure you separate every work title distinctively to create separate…

The old age question that has been argued each way since time began, or at least since we started pondering the questions of our existence. Where did we come from? How did we get here? Which came first the “chicken” or the “egg?” It’s the same scenario…

There’s no doubting that we all care about money. However you look at it, the money we earn in our jobs supports our families, allows us to own that home we’ve always lusted after, and for some allows us to become the sugar daddy/momma we’ve always wanted to be… If that’s your bag…
So when we are looking for a new job, is money still the biggest and sometimes only…

Every year it’s the same, people professing to be a whole new them in the New Year. Whether it’s losing weight, tightening the purse strings or stopping a bad habit. It gets boring. The truth is, December is the perfect time to reflect and a great time to look at your career year. Was it one to remember or not a great…

It’s a problem that recruiters and candidates alike are all too familiar with: poorly written job descriptions that do little to direct the right talent to the right open positions abound. To make it even worse, many resumes are similarly uninformative, making it equally challenging for employers to find the right candidates through simple keyword searches. Google has…

Here is what I have to say about David Heinemeier Hansson's outrageous libel against me, a crime which he committed merely because he received my email for a job opportunity on the same day his puerile book was released... Soap-box standing and so on, dhh is no example of ethical 'cleanliness'.…

So I’m just about 6 months into this whole recruiting thing. Loving life so far. I’ve nailed the acronyms for the most part, now I’m trying to focus on the tools. Recruiters use a LOT of tools; Chrome extensions, plugins, apps, tickers, etc. (Anyone still have a pager?) For someone like me who likes to be organized and “simple” when it comes to “things”-there are way too many freaking tools out there.

We all know that Brexit means Brexit, but what’s less clear is how Britain’s departure from the EU will impact on skill shortages, specialist recruitment services and the opportunities for graduate employment. The result of June’s referendum has done little so far to slow the country’s strong jobs market, according to official data, but many questions remain over how things will change as Britain establishes its role outside the single market.
Unemployment, currently running at below…

Job seekers often spend a great deal of time perfecting their resumes. While there is no doubt that a professional resume is an essential component of the job search process, a well-crafted cover letter is equally important but often neglected. Cover letters can reflect a side of you that your resume simply can't portray. For example, when executed well, a cover letter can demonstrate your work ethic and attention to detail. Regardless of how impressive your…

A 2014 article concluded that if Santa Claus was paid for the work he does, he'd earn around $140,000 annually. We at the PeopleTicker felt that salary was way too low so we did our own analysis to determine a fair salary for one of the most sought after jobs worldwide. Our global SkillsVillage validated the salary data we came up with and the results…

If you are trying to recruit new people for your company in this day and age, it might seem like shooting a fish in the barrel. If you are a recruiting agent, you think that you influence a hire. In reality, corporate teams marginalize your efforts. You are powerless in their world.....unless you understand the world as they see it.
