52 ideas on using social media within HR

It has taken me a while to get this lists published, I originally had the idea six months ago! Below are 50 51 52 ideas on how you can use social media within your HR and Recruitment strategy.

Not all of the ideas are practical for all organisations, and I would never recommend you trying to implement all of them at once! Or for that matter without an overall strategy *insert ad for Inspecht social media consulting here*. The list is more designed to stimulate ideas and… Continue

Good habits...(how flossing every day changed my life)

I have always hated flossing and I am guessing I am not alone. I did it once a week for good measure, not including the frantic flossing the week before the dentist visits.

Well, a friend told me that if I floss every day, there are other great side effects. She suggested that her allergy symptoms went away after a week of flossing. I suffer from bad allergies and frequently have trouble hearing because I get so stuffed up.

So I started, and you know what? My hearing is… Continue

Top 5 pharma layoffs in 2008 -

Fierce Pharma outlines how 20,000 pharma folks were laid off from 5 companies in 2008.

I hate to point this out, but if big pharma can let all of those folks go without major issues continuing to do business, then those employees were not adding value (or very much of it).

As one marketeer put it to me: if you can’t show me where you made me $$, saved me $$ or saved me time - why do I employ you? Pharma sales reps with biology/chemistry or molecular degrees - send me your… Continue

Happy Birthday : The Computer Mouse turns 40

mouse.jpgInvented by a team of researchers led by Doug Engelbart at the Stanford Research Institute in California in 1968, computer’s most dynamic input device, the “mouse”, has entered into its 40s on Monday.

The first-ever mouse was made from a wooden block with wheels mounted on its base, and featured a red button on top of its case, and a cable at its back, which probably made one of the… Continue

My Favorite Time Of Year-Time To Raise the Bar

It's been 1 year since I made a vow to myself to make the most of 2008.

A year later I look back on that time and realize a year changes so much. Never does one really think about what they have until they look in the mirror and reflect on who they have become. This is me.

It never ceases to amaze me how much we should love each and every day for the miracles we have. It is as though life always points us where we need to go, when we need it most. At least it seems that… Continue

Being a General in the War for Talent during an Armistice

If you have been reading my posts here (thanks if you have :)) then you'll probably realise that I have been thinking, studying and reviewing the role of Internal Recruitment within my organisation. It has been a really interesting, revealing and introspective journey. Especially with focus sharpening in the areas of the business which are not what some people would consider as core.

Was I over complicating things? We have our systems, our processes, our metrics. We achieve the… Continue
