Have you ever put yourself in the shoes of a passive candidate?
It’s a dreadful experience. You’re happy with your job, you enjoy your coworkers, salary and benefits. The last thing you’re thinking about is working somewhere else.
Yet in the back of your mind is that little voice telling you it’s time for change. “Hey, we’ve been doing this for 5 years now! Can we move on, already?!”
Your goal then as a recruiter is to talk to that little voice, to convince the…

Being a Smart Recruiter is knowing your customer and creating a relationship with that person. Your customer knows exactly what he/she is looking for and can provide a right direction. Once that raphor and trust is made. You will have the world in your pocket. Your customer can provide you with sample resumes of current employees that will help you build queries on data bases. His or Her staff can provide you resources i.e. Alumni Associations where Recruiters cannot connect with..For example…

Well the jury is out on that, and I dont work as a pro recruiter, but I do recruit heavily for my own firm and it's one of my most important roles.
1) I look for character not skills. One does not change, while skillz come and go- often surprsingly fast.
2) I dont get hung up on credentials per se- they can be important/critical in some contexts, meaningless in others.
3) I do see recruiting as probably the most important element of leadership
4) I…

While at my last contract recruiting assignment, I was approached by an account executive for Dayak, a website which seems to work along the same principle as Bounty. I posted my job specs with updates on a regular basis, but did find that the lack of direct communication between me and the agency recruiters resulted in substandard candidates for my positions. I did not hire anyone using this tool.

What makes me a smart recruiter after 20 years. I hate to open my secret but want to show you how smart i am.
Once you do a database search most people just start calling. Many data bases sort in ABC order. I always go to the end of the ABC and start calling at the end. Most of these candidate never get a call. So they are so glad when I call.
Also I tell candidates to list there resumes twice. for example.

1 Say what you do, and do what you say.
2 Make sure that you keep your word, your name is your virtue.
3 Always return phone calls and emails, it can be brief - just do it.
4 Referrals - treat them all with respect, they could be your next client!
5 Today is today and tomorrow is another day - remain positive!
Other than those five things, remain true, passionate and love what you do!

Why am I a smart recruiter- after 20 years i've learned a few rules I live by each day:
:
1. Serve the candidate and the client
2. Have 2 ears to listen and only 1 mouth to speak
3. Each person is unique surprisingly fascinating
4. Identify what the candidate is really looking for and find that.
5. Always make it fun and interesting to speak with me
6. Respect-Care-Honest-Energy
7. All we have is our reputation. Take good care of it.
8. Never sell a…

Check out my
quick video blog about the recent buzz about social networking and how it can be used for recruitment. I’ve spent many long nights compiling thoughts and strategies about social networking recruiting and think this will be the start of a video blog series on my findings (should anyone care to hear them).
Most importantly is the idea of having a targeted, coordinated campaign that connects your recruiting efforts…

When I was a baby sourcer, and didn’t have the crutch LinkedIn to jumpstart my searches, I’d go to the Internet (this was before ZoomInfo - formerly Eliyon) and the other Internet strippers really got started, and I would google (back then I think it was dogpile or altavista I used before I kinda’ understood the magic of algorithms and the brains behind them) the name of the company I was trying to penetrate and the title I was working on. Mind you,…

I tried Bounty Jobs in the last half of last year and while many search assignments were a waste of time, I found two great new clients who I made placements with and have a continuing relationship. I don't engage on the ones that have low fee structures. I think you just have to be careful but both of these clients did not have a problem with communicating with me directly once I started presenting viable candidates.

I have been on a quest to find a search engine that will know what I'm looking for without me ever having to input a search term, let alone search strings, symbols or syntax. No, not natural language but something even less tiresome...
brain waves perhaps.
More than that, I want the aggregated results to be served in context, arranged in folders by media and domain, sorted by date and relevancy,…

I found this site as I was searching the internet for additional information on BOUNTYJOBS. I thought I would add my info to see if it helps anyone. I have found that if the company will communicate with you and take your calls giving you the opportuntiy to create a relationship, they are worth working with. The companies that do not do this I feel are just building their recruiting databases for free. I have even been told by 4 VP of HR's that this is the only reason they use BOUNTY.
